This eliminates the need for Public IPs on provisioned VMs. Instead, the XOAP Connector VM uses an Azure Managed Identity within the subscription to:

• Create all required Azure resources
• Securely communicate with the XOAP backend

Updating the Connector

Version descriptions

We added version descriptions to all version drop-downs for better identification specific version changes.

Inventaire

Our new Inventory is the new home for all Devices registered with an XOAP Connector. It enables running operational tasks from a central management interface, independent of the location your Devices are located.

Commands Library

You can store commands for later use and edit them the same way we support editing resources, including versioning, access to previous versions and download of the commands.

PSADT v4 Support

We added support for the latest PSADT v4 packages. You can now upload and deploy your v4 packages in the same way as you did with v3.

Extended support for BYO PSADT packages (v3 and v4)

As XOAP is using some custom functions to identify correct installation on nodes with PSADT script extensions, we are now adding those extensions automatically during PSADT upload. The same applies to some of the parameters we are using for extended functionality.

This enables customers to upload almost all of their previously created PSADT v3 and v4 packages without prior adjustments, as long as they comply with the PSADT standards.

Writes the application parameters into the registry (SOFTWARE/PSADT) to identify applications that were installed.

Post-uninstallation

UnRegister-Installation

Adds specific registry information to the packages which gives XOAP the opportunity to identify if the package was uninstalled.

Adding parameters

We are using some special parameters for additional functionality inside of XOAP. Therefore we are adding some specific parameters to the installation scripts during upload, if they are not present inside the packages:

PackageType = ‘Application’

TargetOS = ‘Any’

PackageName = ‘APP_IgorPavlov_7ZipZS_2501_Any_x86_EN’

The PackageName parameter is dynamically created based on the application parameters inside the package.

The currently available XOAP PSADT Package Wizard is not supporting v4 packages and we are not planning to implement it there.

We added a test connection capability for Azure, AWS and Google which makes verification of added connections an easy step.

Application Management

New application upload flow

The application upload process has been redesigned for better clarity and control. Users can now define key metadata, validate packages, and track upload progress with greater reliability.

Add multiple applications with the ability to overwrite existing ones when needed or a batch upload capability to assign the same tag to all resources.

Detailed tracking of the upload process with details of every single application.

Added the capability to directly create Application groups or assign the applications to an existing group.

Add to group

Applications can now be assigned to existing groups directly from the application list, reducing navigation overhead and enabling faster deployments.

Create Application group

Users can now create new groups inline while managing applications, streamlining the group assignment process without leaving the current workflow.

The adjustment of installation parameters during this process is also available.

Application Groups now include a dedicated detail view with all relevant metadata, assigned applications, and policies, making group management faster and more transparent.

Added “Force reboot” switch in groups

A new configuration switch allows admins to enforce a reboot after application deployment when necessary, improving compliance with update policies.

For reboots to be initiated to the corresponding Policy on the Configuration group in Configuration Management needs to allow reboots too.

Added “Continue on error” switch in groups

This option enables deployments to proceed even if one application fails, allowing for more resilient workflows and fewer total failures during group deployments.

Added “Copy installation command” functionality in addition to “Download installation script”

Users can now copy the installation command directly to their clipboard, alongside the existing download option for installation scripts.

Adjust parameters directly

Application deployment parameters can now be edited inline without navigating to advanced settings. This allows for quicker customization of install behavior, environment variables, and execution flags directly from the main interface.

Assign additional applications to group

You can now assign multiple additional applications to an existing group in a single step. This enhancement speeds up bulk configuration tasks and reduces the friction when updating group memberships across large deployments.

Track installation failure and success on group level

Application Groups now provide aggregated deployment results, allowing you to track installation success and failure rates at the group level. This gives you better visibility into rollout status and simplifies troubleshooting across large-scale deployments.

Activity log added to Application details and Application groups details

A new activity log table lists all changes made to applications and application groups, providing accountability and traceability for administrative actions.

Added more actions to improve workflows in Applications overview

We’ve added several new quick actions directly within the Application Groups view to reduce the number of clicks and improve the speed of management tasks.

Duplicate group

Application Groups can now be duplicated easily. This feature allows you to quickly replicate group configurations, including assigned applications and deployment settings, streamlining the setup of similar environments or test scenarios.

Create role with group

You can now create and assign a role directly for an existing Application group.

New node details view

A comprehensive new detail view has been added for individual nodes. It includes applied configurations, DSC logs, compliance status, and resource-level insights — all in one place for faster troubleshooting.

We’re excited to introduce the biggest XOAP update yet — a massive leap forward in performance, design, and usability. This release doesn’t just improve the platform; it sets the stage for a new era of features, modules, and innovation within XOAP.

Complete re-design of our design system

We’ve fully reworked the XOAP design system from the ground up. This includes new UI components, layout principles, spacing rules, and typography adjustments, aiming for a more cohesive and scalable user interface across all modules.

The data tables now support native multi-selection capabilities, allowing users to perform bulk operations more efficiently.

Removed settings area

New theme switcher functionality

New DSC Baseline module 0.1.15 (required)

The updated DSC Baseline module introduces minor bug fixes and compatibility improvements. This version is now required for all XOAP deployments to ensure consistent baseline configuration behavior.

Please note: this is a breaking change. All existing DSC configurations must be recompiled using the new baseline module to ensure compatibility. Failure to do so may result in unexpected behavior or failed deployments. The updated module brings improved stability and aligns with upcoming enhancements to the DSC engine.

We added the capability to see a history of versions for resources. Whenever a user changes something online within the XOAP platform related to a specific version (like adding new parameters) the file gets a new version.

In addition to that the user can also choose a custom version during the save process.

Deprecated

Because of a fundamental change in our data tables, it is no longer possible to save the persistent search query. This setting was available in the central Paramètres area. We are planning to reintroduce a search history for all data tables in the future.
